Description
The Barbotine workshop was founded 40 years ago and was recently taken over by two young enthusiasts of Aubagne pottery. They remain faithful to the spirit of the founder, Philippe Beltrando, and perpetuate the know-how and quality of traditional Provençal pottery. Each piece, whether a tian, daubière, or poumié, has a specific function in Provençal cuisine.
This pitcher, also known as a "pegau," was once used to draw wine from the barrel, its dimensions allowing it to fit under the tap of the cask. It is hand-thrown by the potter and features a twisted handle dating back to the 17th century.
