Description
The Barbotine workshop was established 40 years ago and was recently taken over by two young enthusiasts of Aubagne pottery. They remain faithful to the spirit of the founder, Philippe Beltrando, and perpetuate the expertise and quality of traditional Provençal pottery. Each piece, whether a tian, daubière, or poumié, has a specific function in Provençal cuisine.
Gentle, rounded, practical, and very easy to handle, this beautiful handmade item was created for serving hot drinks: teas, hot chocolate, grogs, herbal teas, and other infusions. Named the "Toupin," it appeared in Provence in the 16th century. It is the subject of popular expressions such as "chaque toupin trouve sa cabucelle" (every pot finds its lid), meaning everyone finds their match. It is equipped with a lid and a handle for pouring without burning yourself. The height of this model, with the lid, is 16 cm (it is also available in 21 cm).
